We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, upload a CV, or contact support. This includes your name, email address, CV content, and any other information you choose to provide.

We also automatically collect certain information when you use the platform, including log data, device information, and usage analytics.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the NjordCV platform, including AI-powered CV optimization, ATS analysis, and cover letter generation. Your CV data is used solely to generate outputs for you and is never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

We may use your email address to send service-related communications, account notifications, and (with your consent) product updates.

AI Processing and OpenAI

NjordCV uses OpenAI's API to process and improve your CV content. When you use AI features, your CV text is sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models. We recommend you do not include sensitive personal identifiers (such as national ID numbers or financial account numbers) in your CV uploads.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in the European Union. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for data in transit and AES-256 encryption for data at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

CV files uploaded for AI processing are retained for the duration of your account. You may delete your data at any time from Account Settings.

Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You may also request a portable copy of your data, withdraw consent for processing, and object to certain uses of your information.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to operate the platform (session management, authentication). We use analytics cookies (with your consent) to understand how the platform is used and to improve it. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

NjordCV uses the following third-party services: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI processing), and standard cloud infrastructure providers. Each third-party service is subject to its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (not linked to you) may be retained for analytics purposes.
